The welding process is very possible outcome is not perfect. This causes the quality of the welds do not meet the minimum standards required to be categorized reject or re-work. weld imperfections results were divided into two kinds, namely:

  • Discontinuity that is when every imperfection that occurs in metals has not exceeded the limits of tolerance.
  • Defect namely Discontinuity happened has exceeded the limits of tolerance which resulted in loss of quality of welding.

Ones of method that are used for checking the welding is NDT; RT, UT, PT, MT, ET, Etc..
Several types of welding defects, namely;
