Welding pay is dependent upon your skill level, training, certificates, and experience. But the x factor in getting a nice welding income is prospecting for job opportunities.

Welding is an interesting career that really does deliver job satisfaction. Like any career the importance is on making a good income to sustain your lifestyle and make a comfortable life for your family.

Welding has many different branches that fit into a multitude of different business areas, and therefore Welding Pay is different. It is this reason the income that can be made from welding varies greatly between five figure sums and six figure sums annually.

Today we are delivering the story of a family of welders and the changes that happened to their business over time and how this changed their welding pay. This is an interesting look at how outside influences can impact earnings for the better and worse.

Back in the early 1990′s a family based in a city had a thriving sheet metal fabrication business based in a 1000 square meter fabrication shop full of all the needed equipment, which they owned. The family consisted of a Grandfather, son and one grandchild (aged 20). The welding pay and income the family gained on a monthly basis was good, with the 20 year old grandchild getting $50,000 a year alone.

Unfortunately this thriving business fell into difficult times as they completed contracts worth six figure sums to then find that the companies who commissioned the work went bankrupt. This meant the family business had completed the work and delivered the finished products to the customer and were waiting for the check to arrive within the sixty days only to find they received nothing as the customers business failed.

Over time this meant the family business started to fail as it could not keep up with the financial losses sustained by other businesses not paying their bills. It was at this time that a second grandchild joined the family work force at the age of 17 (1996).

To save the business the 20 year old (older) grandchild took control of the business and made wholesale changes to the way the business was run which in turn improved the business for all. These changes meant selling off all the equipment, bar the main essentials, to other fabrication companies. After this the fabrication shop was sold.

Many were thinking the business was dead and buried but the 20 year old had a plan in mind. This plan was to remove all overhead and running costs associated with a fabrication shop and concentrate on building a business where the family went on site and built the required products at the clients premises.
